Festival of Colors

This weekend was none other than the festival of colors. I have been waiting to go to this legendary event for the last year. I don't know the exact purpose of it but pretty much thousands of people get together and at a certain time everyone starts throwing chalk. It was a good time with good friends.

Just the beginning...

After the festival we got to go home and get dolled up for my friend Elyse's birthday dinner. After washing my hair 4 times I came to the conclusion that i'm just gonna have to live with the pink streaks in my hair for a few days. It actually looks pretty cool and it's a fun little change.

Number 2

This weeks shout out goes to 2 of my best friends... Averi and Kelsey.

Kels (Kelsigl, Seegal, Baller)... So many memories with this girl. She became my best friend freshman year of high school. Kelsey is a BALLIN basketball player and is currently the star player at Mesa State. Kels and I were stats girls for the football team all 3 years of high school, and I can honestly say the days spent on that football field were some of the best and most memorable days of all high school. Feeney... "LADIES" ummmhmmm. The memories I made with this girl are unforgettable and most of them unmentionable! Some memories that are mentionable... 1. "rap mix 06" 2. Driving to arby's and century volleyball games in the blue honda... when she didn't even have her license. 3. THELILONE 4. Buy you a Drank... and oh so many more.

Averi Louise (Slavery, Ave, Slave girl)... My goodness I love this girl! There is nothing better than to get a catch up phone call from her. Ave always has so much to say... and says it in a way that no other person can. I LOVE it and it makes our phone calls so entertaining. Averi is an honest and genuine person and with her what you see is what you get. Although we don't see each other very often, when we do its like nothing has changed and I know we are going to stay close friends for a very long time.

I love both of these girls and am so lucky to have them in my life. I can't wait to see how great and successful they both will be. Love you Kelsey Michele and Averi Louise!!!

Empire State of Mind

New York was fantastic! It was a great experience and it felt so surreal the entire time I was there. Our first day in the city we spent pretty much just touring time square and doing a little shopping. On saturday we went to see the statue of liberty, visited ground zero and went to grand central station... and did a little more shopping. Saturday night my sis and I got to see Wicked on broadway. I LOVED it!! After wicked we walked into time square and got some AMAZING cheesecake from a place called Juniors. On sunday before we hit the road we decided to check out central park and before heading back to Ithaca we stopped and ate at the Shake Shack... it was delicious. After all the craziness of the week it feels good to be home.

Time Square.

Grand Central Station: Connor wanted to do a "Where's Kim?" picture.... can you spot me?

Statue of Liberty

We thought we were going to be late to the play... so yes I ran 9 blocks in those heels. Thanks Linds!

Shout Out...

Sitting in the Washington D.C. airport for a 3 hour layover really isn't as fun as it sounds... I promise. While sitting here I had a fun idea to give a little shout out each week to people who are important to me and my life and write a little about them and why they are so great. We will see how persistent I am but here is the first.

Who better to give my first shout out to than my A-M-A-Z-I-N-G parents:

Mom (Kippy, Kipster, Poo Bear)- She is THE best. I literally can't go a day without talking to her at least once if not 2, 3, 4 times. She has become one of my closest and best friends and I don't know what I would do without her. She is hands down one of the most sensitive people I have met... and I was lucky enough to get that part of her. She always has a smile on her face especially when she is with our family. No doubt the best chef and baker, I don't care what anyone says, she makes the best chocolate chip cookies around. My favorite part of my mom is when you get her laughing right before family prayer... you know how kids get the giggles before prayer and you have to wait on them? Well that isn't the case in our family, it's usually my mom. I love it and I love you mom!

Dad (Danny Wayde, Pops, Poppers)- Couldn't have asked for a better dad... He is one of the hardest workers I have ever met. I look up to him so much for that. Best part of my dad is when you get in a fight and even if he is right he is always the one to apologize. He is not only the best dad I could ask for but the best grandpa a kid could ask for. Whenever he is around my nieces and nephews he is always the one holding them or down on the floor playing with them. I love the way he still shows my mom how much he cares and loves her and he has set the standard very high for the guy that I am going to marry.
Your the best Pops and I love you.

This week...

This week is my spring break and i'm on my way to New York City!!! My sister Lindsey lives in Ithaca with her husband Connor and their son Graham. I have never been to New York and have always wanted to go so Lindsey and I convinced my mom to fly me out. We are spending the weekend in the city where we will be doing lots of site seeing, shopping, and going to the broadway play Wicked. I am so excited and can't wait to get there!

Your getting a blog???

So I made a blog! I always thought blogs were for older, married people with kids who actually have things to write about. I guess I am getting a head start. My life isn't too exciting so I will try to make this as interesting as I possibly can.
